On joining the ship the personal have to make themselves completely familiar with the vessel’s cargo system arrangements as well as ballast, COW and IG systems.

CARGO OPERATIONS 货物操作
Prior to any cargo operations a loading or discharging plan will be compiled and delivered for the officers’ acknowledgment. The copy of the plan will be posted in the CCR. Any modification or amendment to the plan would be detailed in the Chief Officer Order Book.

Monitor IG pressure in COTs and Oxygen content if the plant in operation.
在设备运行时,随时监控货油舱惰气压力和含氧量。
Report to the ECR an occurrence of heavy smoke from the funnel.
若烟囱冒浓烟时,请及时报告机舱集控室。
Moorings have to be attended. While handling the moorings beware of possible ship’s shift. Special care has to given to fire wires. Do not let them come into the water.
必须及时调整缆绳。在操作缆绳时小心船位移动。尤其小心防火缆,不要让它到水中。
Check and keep safe means of access to the ship.
检查和保持通船舶的通道安全。
No unauthorized personal to be allowed on board. All visitors to be identified and if possible escorted to the destination.

At night time provide adequate illumination of the deck.

Check and make sure that all personal on watch properly clad and comply with safety requirements.

On handing over the watch make sure that all important information regarding cargo operations and safety of the ship has been passed to the reliever and he comprehend it.

Duty officer should have a walk round on deck for safety check to match the requirement of the SSP during his duty shift. Make sure that security duty persons had properly controlled the boarding access, monitored the restricted area and the surrounding area of the ship. And make sure that the duty persons had strictly checked every boarding person’s belonging’s and their identify card with picture, and had well recorded the boarding person’s name, company name, ID number, boarding reasons, and so on.
值班驾驶员在他值守期间必须到甲板做一个安全巡视以达到船舶保安计划的要求。必须确认甲板安全值守人员能够很好,正确地控制船舶登轮通道,监控船舶的限制区域和船舶的周围水域,确保船舶的安全。同时必须确认值守人员严格检查每个登轮人员的随身携带的物品及其身份证件并登记好每个登轮人员的姓名,公司名称,ID号码,登轮理由等。
Duty officer should sign the DOI (Declaration of Inspection), put into your printed name, date, time.
值班驾驶员必须签署检查声明,写下名字,日期,时间。
While vessel berthing at narrow water area, such as Mississippi river, duty officer should inform the duty crew on deck, they should put attention at mooring lines, make sure all mooring lines got same tighten, when another vessel passing over,and report to OOW immediately. OOW should inform dock man and inspect the condition of the loading arms with them.
当船舶停靠在狭窄水域码头时,比如密西西比河,值班驾驶员应告诉甲板值班人员,每当有另外船舶驶过我船时,他们必须注意我船的缆绳情况,所有的缆绳必须保持同样的受力,同时立即报告值班驾驶员。值班驾驶员应通知码头,并同码头工人一起确认货油臂或软管的状态。
MSDS(material safety data sheet) read, have a knowledge to the cargo properties and first aid measurement to concerned cargo.
必须阅读MSDS,了解熟悉货物的特性以及相关的急救措施。
At the end of each watch up all relevant logs.
交接事项必须记入相关的记录中。
